I recently had a class about using ChatGPT in project management and also read some content in the projectmanagement.com related to AI in my profession and I started thinking big. In a world where AI is becoming part of our daily work, how do people and machines work together?
AI can really change how we work and get things done. But with all this tech, where do we, humans, fit in? Are we moving to a time when machines do everything, or are there parts of our job that only we can do?
Just like in nature, being able to change and adapt is key.
If Darwin were here today, he might say that in this new world of AI, it's not about being the strongest or smartest, but being able to roll with the changes.
Looking back at some wise folks from ancient Greece, Socrates talked a lot about knowing ourselves. So, with all this tech around, maybe we need to first understand where we stand. Plato told a story about how sometimes we only see a small part of the bigger picture. With AI changing how we see things, it's important to know what's real and what's not. And Aristotle? He believed in finding a good middle ground. With AI, it's about finding a balance between what we can do and what machines can help us with.
Considering AI in project management profession, it is clear that it will not replace us. Instead, by adjusting to changes (thanks, Darwin), understanding ourselves better (hat tip to Socrates), knowing our strengths and where we fit in the tech world (shout out to Plato), and finding the right balance (cheers, Aristotle), we can use AI to help us even more.
